In this article I will explain how to play a G chord on the guitar.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Guitar
  1. Step 1

Position the guitar in your lap so that it is comfortable and so you have easy access and view of all the frets. Finding the style and position that is right for you is very important as you learn to play guitar.

  2. Step 2

Hold down the third fret on the low E,B and high E string, and the second fret on the A string. Make sure you hold down the strings very tightly, if you don't do this it could result in unwanted rattling or unwanted sounds. Remember that if you are just learning to play the guitar the skin on the ends of your fingers will be a bit sensitive, but hang in there it gets much better with time!

  3. Step 3

Strum all six strings of the guitar, to get a pure crisp G chord! This is a great sounding chord, definitely one of my favorites!
