Things You'll Need:

  • a good pen
  1. Step 1
     

    After you have picked out the envelope you wish to address, pick up your favorite pen, and lets get started. First impressions are key when addressing and envelope, so here are a few rules on the first line of the envelope.

  2. Step 2
     

    First use Mr, Mrs, Ms, master,or Mr & Mrs when addressing your recipient. then use their full name. this completes line one of the envelope.

  3. Step 3

    The second line should be the street address of the recipient, such as 106 Elm lane for example.

  4. Step 4
     

    The third line should contain the city and state, for example: (Butler, Pa). Abbreviating the state name is acceptable. The 4th line is used to show the zip code for the city of your recipient

  5. Step 5

    Top left side of the envelope should contain your return address. In case the post office has difficulty delivering your envelope they have an address to return it to.

Tips & Warnings
  • use calligraphy to make your envelopes look professional
  • most micros oft software have an address function in Word. type then print
