Chocolate is very toxic to dogs. If you know your dog has eaten more than 2 or 3 ounces of chocolate within the last 20 minutes you need to act fast. If chocolate is absorbed into your dog's system it can make he/she dangerously sick. This is a vet recommended way of quickly helping your dog.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

    This is a quick and easy method. Don't worry this procedure will not hurt your dog.

  2. Step 2

    Always keep regular drugstore hydrogen peroxide in your house.

  3. Step 3

    Act as quickly as possible. This procedure needs to be done within 15 to 20 minutes of ingestion.

  4. Step 4

    Quickly get the hydrogen peroxide and some kind of small cup or spoon. Pour about 2 tablespoons of the peroxide into the cup and make your dog swallow it. This should make your dog vomit. This will get the chocolate out of your dog's system before it is absorbed.

  5. Step 5

    If your dog does not vomit increase the dosage until he/she does vomit. This will vary according to you dogs size.

  6. Step 6

    After vomiting your dog should be fine.

Tips & Warnings
  • Take your dog to the vet if get sick and will not vomit or if your dog has eaten a pound or more of chocolate.
