There's plenty of info on how to get out of a traffic ticket or beat the ticket in court. The following info will help you avoid the hassle in the first place.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

To start with don't call undue attention to yourself. Make sure your vehicle is basically presentable with the registration(tag) up to date and all equipment functioning. Be especially mindful of one of the headlamp beams being burnt out and insignificant as it may seem don't forget the tag light. Additionally while the blue headlight washers, neon lights, and accessory headlights and fog lights may look cool they make your vehicle stand out in traffic especially at night.

  2. Step 2

Be smooth going through traffic. No abrupt lane changes, accelerating quickly at lights and stop signs, rolling through intersections, or failing to use your signals. These all draw attention and set you out from the rest of the traffic.

  3. Step 3

When rolling down the roadway don't be the lead car or the tail of the line. The traffic officers don't run in packs and it's virtually impossible to stop an entire group of cars at the same time. Stay in the middle of the group and if there is a choice, in the farthest lane to the right of the center line. If you have to pass another vehicle don't hang in the left lane, move back right ASAP. Pick the furthest vehicle ahead that you can see and monitor his/her brakelamps particularly if they're cresting a hill that you're just beginning to approach. This is your early warning to an oncoming patrol car or one running radar.(Or for that matter any looming traffic problem.) Also whenever it's safe ease to your left slightly and check behind the traffic line for one overtaking you. If you see a patrol car ease off the gas and let him pick off someone else. From his view since he can't see you yet you'll appear to be a car the speeders were overtaking.

  4. Step 4

Additionally, watch bridges and overpasses particularly in rural areas and look for areas in the medians where it looks like a car or something has pulled out and left debris in the road as it may indicate a turn around or cross over for emergency vehicles. Contrary to TV almost NO agency runs air units even if they have one as the cost is prohibitive. Another stealth trick is to pull up behind an abandoned vehicle so as to look like they're tied up, don't fall for it. Also while no agency will have any form of an on-paper quota enforcement in a lot of places picks up the last week of the month.

Tips & Warnings
  • Nothing difficult about any of this but if you'll apply these simple steps it's virtually 100% certain that the police will stop the folks who don't. An added benefit of all this is that by default you've become a much safer driver.
