Do you ever get tired of hearing the same old music on the radio stations over and over? This is an easy way to broaden your musical horizons while finding new music and new artists.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Internet Access
  • Windows media player or any media player should do
  • Pen and Paper
  1. Step 1

First, reflect on some current songs that you really enjoy. You may need to take a few days of paying close attention to what comes on the radio or TV, and write down some artists names and songs that you really enjoy.

  2. Step 2

Go to www.amazon.com. In the search boxes at the top, click on the drop down box and select music. In the box to the right of the drop down box, type in the name of one of the artists you really enjoy. Click "go".

  3. Step 3

In the search results, find your artist, and click on one of their CD's. Once you're on the particular album's page, scroll down until you find the section titled "customers who bought this item also bought". There you will see other albums by other artists. Many of them will have similar qualities to the artist you like. Click through each of the albums, and listen to the samples available on amazon. Write down each artist, album and song that you come across if you like it.

  4. Step 4

On each new album's page, keep scrolling through and clicking on the albums listed in the 'customers who bought this...' section , and you will begin finding all sorts of new artists and songs you've never heard of! Don't be bored with the same old same old on the radio anymore! Once you have a nice list, you can go back through and buy the albums or individual mp3's wherever...used on amazon is cheap, but check ebay.com, half.com, and local stores.

Tips & Warnings
  • if you start to veer too far from your preferred styles, just go back to your original favorite artist, and go on a different track. There are endless possibilities. Once you've exhausted the leads from the original artist, try searching again on some other favorites.

on 2/23/2009 Friends went to support a friend's band the other night, that was different music than we usually hear; it is good to embrace something different to mix things up a bit! THANKS! 5*
