How to Send Messages on Facebook

Facebook is a social networking site that keeps people connected. Facebook can be accessed from a Macbook, Iphone, Blackberry, and many other computer devices. Facebook is a great social utility because it allows the impossible to happen, which is keeping in touch with thousands of people on a daily basis.

Facebook offers many services and features. You can communicate with people, play games, create applications, and even post pictures.

In today's article, we are going to focus on the major ways to communicate with your friends via Facebook. Facebook is an extremely easy site to use, and you can master many of its features in only a few minutes.

Instructions

1. Log into Facebook.

   First we are going to learn how to send a private message.

   On the top of the screen, hold your mouse over where it says "inbox." You should see "compose new message" pop up. Click on that link.

   A page will load with a pre-set form set up for you. Begin typing the name of the person that you wish to send your Facebook message to. As you are typing, the list of names will narrow, and you should be able to click on your friend's name.

   Next, enter a subject.

   Finally, type your message. You can even click on "record video" and record a video message as well. When you are done, click "send."

   You just sent a private message!

2. If you want to write on someone's wall, go to their profile, and click on "wall." From there, click where it says "write something..." and type your message. When you are ready to post it, click "post." You have posted your message.

3. Finally, we will learn how to "chat." Look on the bottom right hand side of your screen. Click where it says "Online friends." You will then see a list of all of your friends who are currently online. Click on the name of the person that you wish to chat with. Type your message and then hit enter. You have just begun to chat with your friend. This features works just like an instant messenger. Remember, Facebook needs to be open in order for this feature to work. Enjoy!
