Have you ever seen painted stripes on a wall and say to yourself, "Wow, I'd love to do that to my room!" Yeah, me, too!

But the fact of the matter is, I'm not that talented. And even though I am sure that my husband and I could have figured out how to do this painting technique on our son's wall, I wasn't convinced that our marriage would survive it!

So, what did we use instead? Wallpaper! I know, I know, wallpaper is so not in nowadays, but for one wall of your home, it really isn't bad, especially if you don't want to deal with 1,000 rolls of painter's tape and 3 cans of paint and divorce court.

Take a look for yourself...

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1
    Figaro Green Wallpaper by Drama

This first wallpaper is the wallpaper that we used in our teen son's bedroom. It is green, white and brown. The name of it is Figaro by Drama. I purchased it at American Blinds & More's website (see link in Resources below).

I also just saw this same wallpaper in Bree's son, Andrew's home on, "Desperate Housewives" last night! It was really cool to see our wallpaper on my favorite television show!

  2. Step 2
    Figaro Teal Wallpaper by Drama

It's also comes in Teal, brown and beige. And in this picture, you can see that you can also hang it horizontally for a totally different look.

  3. Step 3
Tie Dye Stripe Wallpaper Pink and Orange

Here's one for a Girl's Bedroom. I love the colors, so bright & happy!

  4. Step 4
Peel and Stick Stripes by Wallies

I really like these Peel and Stick stripes from Wallies.com, too. And the best part is, of course, when you are done with them, you just peel it off!

Tips & Warnings
  • Make sure to prep your walls before laying wallpaper on them.
  • A footstool or a chair will probably be needed.
  • Cut once, measure twice!
