Are you tired of getting static shocks at everything you touch? Learn how you can static shock and be static free!

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Static shock is generated from two materials that come into contact. First, try to slightly spray water or air to your hair when you put on fabricated clothing. This will eliminate static charge on your hair, helping you avoid static shocks.

  2. Step 2

If you like to wear a lot of clothing that are fabrics, try switching to cotton fabrics, cashmere, or linen. Avoid wearing synthetic fibers, as these can create static shock.

  3. Step 3

A lot of the times, your shoes might be the cause of static shock. For example, I get tons of static shock while running on the treadmill. Everything I touch seems to be full of charge! Instead of wearing rubber soled shoes, try wearing leather shoes or cotton to avoid static shoes.

  4. Step 4

A useful technique that I use when I constantly get static shock when touching a metal door knob is to first rub your hands on the door before touching the metal knob. It works wonders, and eliminates the static shock from touching metal parts.

  5. Step 5

Lastly, do not try to create friction with the things you come in contact with. Avoid rubbing your socks on the carpet, dragging yourself in the car seat, using a cell phone near a gas station, etc. Be smart, and avoid yourself from being attacked by static shock!
