Get Free iPod Music From Your Public Library

If you want free music, your public library is the place to be. You will find music that can be synched with your iPod for free- all you need is a library card.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Locate a large public library in your city, and find out of they carry CD's you can check out. Browse the CD section and if you see anything you like, sign up for a library card.

  2. Step 2

Check out all the CD's that you want, up to the library's limit. You can always go back for more. Your library may not have the latest songs or albums, but it will have a very wide selection of CD's that will open you up to a whole new world of great music. The library has all genre's of music to choose from.

  3. Step 3

Bring home your borrowed CD's and put one into your CD-ROM. iTunes will automatically recognize the CD. You can get the songs onto your iPod a number of different ways. The easiest way is to pull up iTunes (which might pop up on its own after the CD is inserted) and connect your iPod to the computer.

  4. Step 4

Make sure the songs from the CD are selected. If not done automatically, select the CD icon on the left hand column in iTunes. It will be labeled as the Title of the CD (see image.)

  5. Step 5

Select "Sync to Your iPod" from the File dropdown menu (see image.) Do not disconnect your iPod from the computer until the download is complete. Click iTunes' eject button to safely disconnect your iPod from the computer. You now have a diverse collection of songs on your iPod!

Tips & Warnings
  • This article is not meant to suggest a loophole in copyright infringement. There are no laws against copying CDs to your iPod, although there is much controversy as to whether or not it is right. In no way am I suggesting you sell, copy, or burn these CDs or sell the songs for profit. I am only suggesting you copy the songs to your own personal iPod for your own use.
