Things You'll Need:
- A shovel
- Diluted Termiticide
-
Step 1
Dig a trench 4 inches wide and 4 inches deep flush against the outside foundation wall. Next fill the trench with diluted termiticide at the rate of 4 gallons every 10 feet of trench. Then fill the trench with soil and pour more of the diluted termiticide on the soil. Make sure the soil is soaked. For diluting instructions read the termiticide label. The amount you will need is dependent upon how large of an area you are treating.
-
Step 2
If you leave treated soil non-disturbed this treatment will give you a termite barrier of approximately 5 years. This method is cost effective and easy to do.
-
Step 3
Look around your yard for any other wood structures. Fences, dog houses, sheds, and planters are common wood structures. These items need to be treated also with the diluted termiticide.
