Program your AT&T U-verse remote control to operate your home theater system.

Instructions

    • 1

Turn on the device you are programming the U-verse remote to control. For example, turn on your TV.

    • 2

Hold down the "TV" button on the U-verse remote and press and release the "OK" button. Wait for the mode keys to flash twice.

    • 3

Find your TV's 4-digit device code in the U-verse User Guide or from the link in the Resource section of this article.

    • 4

Enter the device code using the number keys on your U-verse remote control. The TV mode button should flash three times.

    • 5

Turn off the TV by pushing the "Power" button. If it does not turn off, start over and try a different code. (The manufacturer of your TV may have many codes.)

    • 6

Manually search for the device if none of the listed codes work.

    • 7

Repeat Steps 1 and 2 and enter "922" to put the remote control into search mode.

    • 8

Hold "Play" as the remote cycles through various codes, and push "Enter" when your TV turns off.

Tips & Warnings

  • Once the modes flash twice, you have 10 seconds to enter the code. If you wait too long, the mode buttons will flash once and you will have to begin again.

  • Even if a code turns off the power on your TV, it may not work on the other functions. You may need to try several codes before you find one that controls all or most of your TV's functions.
