How to Program an AT&T Uverse Remote Control

If you are an AT&T Uverse customer, your technician should have programed your remote before he left, but if for some reason you need to program it again, follow these steps.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Uverse Remote
  1. Step 1

For this example I will assume you are trying to program your TV but you can follow these instructions to program any device on your Uverse remote. Make sure that you have turned on the tv before you begin programing your Uverse remote control.

  2. Step 2

Hold down the TV button on the Uverse remote. (If you are trying to program a different device, hold down the button that names that device). As you are holding the TV button, press and release the OK button. You know you have done this right when all the mode keys flash twice.

  3. Step 3

Find the 4 digit code for your device in the User guide that was given you when the Uverse was set up, or online at https://www.att.com/support_media/images/pdf/uverse/set-up-code-list.pdf

  4. Step 4

At this point, the TV mode button should flash three times. Try to turn the TV off by pushing the power button. If it does not turn off, try a different code. The manufacturer of your TV may have many codes.

  5. Step 5

If none of the codes for your device work, try manually searching for a code. Go back and repeat steps 1 and 2. Then enter 922. Hold play as the remote cycles through various codes. When your TV turns off, push enter.

Tips & Warnings
  • Once the modes flash twice, you have ten seconds to enter the code. If you wait too long, the mode buttons will flash once and you will have to begin again.
  • Even if a code turns off the power on your TV, it may not work on the other functions. You may need to try several codes before you find one that controls all or most of your TV's functions.
