How do you bring a new baby into the family without the big brother or sister getting jealous or feeling left out?

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

During your pregnancy let your child know what is going on and what will be going on from here on out. Include them in on desicion making such as clothes, room color and bedding. Let them know that this is their baby too, not just mom and dad's. Let them feel the baby kick and teach them what's going on in that big belly. Tell them no matter what that you will always love them.

  2. Step 2

When the baby does arrive let your child hold the baby and help take care of them. You can have the big brother or sister get the diapers and wipes or even let them hold baby's bottle. Make them feel needed and let them know that the baby is depending on him or her too.

  3. Step 3

The hardest part is when everyone shows the new baby attention. When this happens let everyone know how much the big brother or sister has been helping and how responsible they've been. Give praise and mention accomplishments the child has made.

  4. Step 4

Never give one child too much attention over the other and include one in the others activities.
