Things You'll Need:
- 2c white rice
- half an onion
- 1/2 tsp ground cumin
- 2tbs oil
- one (Medium) can of tomato sauce
- water (as much as needed for amount of rice)
-
Step 1
First, brown the rice, onion, and oil in a pan. (You can chop the onion however you like. I always leave them in long strips that way if someone doesn't like onion they can easily pick them out and still enjoy the rice.)
-
Step 2
Next, heat the tomato sauce and water in a pot, and when rice is ready pour it in. Cover with a lid. (You won't have to stir the rice much at all. Just keep an eye on the temperature to make sure it isn't burning on the bottom, and if you had the water and sauce at a boil before you put in the rice bring the temp down before you let it sit.)
-
Step 3
Cook for 20 minutes, keeping an eye on the temp and keeping it low to avoid burning the rice.

on 2/21/2009 I couldn't find where you put the cumin in. I assumed it went in the sauce. Great recipe. I can't wait to try it. 5*
