Things You'll Need:
- Cruise control capability.

Step 1
Have you ever wondered why highway (hwy) miles are always more than your city miles? Well that is because on the highway you are more likely to drive at consistent speeds than you would in the city, with all the stopping, turning, and etc that in turn burns more fuel. This is because when you drive a consistent speeds your engine doesn't have to work as hard to adapt to change in speed. Since it does have to work as hard it can save more fuel, hence the lesser trips to the pump.
So think of this, if you save more gas driving a consistent spends, why just not do it all the time? And what better way to drive at a consistent speed than with cruise control. -
Step 2
Now judging on the model of your car, you may or may not have that feature, but most likely you do. You might have to look around on your car steering wheel, where its usually placed. If you've never used your cruise control and are worried about how to use it, don't worry its easy. All you do is reach the desired speed you want to drive and just click the cruise control button. Then take your foot off of the gas pedal, you will feel the car adjust to that speed and that's it. To cancel the cruise control just slightly press on the brakes.

Step 3
Now depending on where you're driving it may be more useful in different places. The highway is the ideal place for cruise control, seeing as you will not be stopping as much. There are certain areas of the city where you can use it. For example on a long road with no stops or maybe in areas where you know that the traffic lights are green most of the time. If you know you are going to make frequent stops, there is no need to use the cruise control, unless you want to.

Step 4
After a while of using this feature you will notice a change in the amount of times you go to the pump and the amount of money you spend. CRUISE ON!
