LCD vs Plasma? This is a big dilemma. Whether you are purchasing a new TV for your bedroom or a large television for your family room, you should know the difference.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Research your LCD and Plasma TV's. Go to several stores and look at what they have. Be sure to check multiple stores out. An in compitent salesman may have set the color wrong on the television. They can make a horrible TV look good and an excellent plasma screen look ridiculous. So look around and read television reviews.

  2. Step 2

The next thing to consider in the LCD vs Plasma debate is price. Typically, plasma is cheaper to buy per square inch. However, they cost 1/3 more to operate. Both price gaps have been closer to each other, yet the Plasma is still cheaper in the most stores per square inch.

  3. Step 3

When buying your LCD or plasma television, decide on your view angle. If your are looking straight on the TV most of the time, both LCD and Plasma are excellent choices. However, if you are sitting "around" the television as in a family room setting, the PLASMA television is your best choice.

  4. Step 4

The last thing to concern yourself in the plasma or LCD television debate is burn-in. Plasma screen are prone to this, if the television is left in one freeze frame for too long. This is getting better in the industry, but unless you are business or a bank that leaves the same channel on 24 hours a day, you should be fine.
