Things You'll Need:
- Patience. Exactness. Maybe 5 minutes of non-distracted time.

Step 1
I was a tad frustrated at the absence of "EXPORT" option for my Mozilla 3.0 "bookmarks" [to IE 7 "Favorites" folder]. Did not exist in the FILE menu drop down of Mozilla 3.0. All forum advises were futile. Here is how I solved this problem: [1] First opened IE7 and created a new favorites folder in the option for that under Favorites. I named it Firefox Bookmarks. [1A]Closed IE7 [optional - you could minimize].
-
Step 2
Now [2]This is where is needs to be exact with no flaws: {for Windows XP}follow this sequence [a] my computer [b]C Drive; Tools; Folder Options; In Folder Options you will see "View" Tab; in View Tab, make sure that "Show Hidden Files" has the "turned on" circle with Dot in it and click "Apply" {if needed} and then Okay; [b] Next Click "Documents and Settings", then find your Computer Name -- Click on it, THEN, "Application Data" and this sequence: Mozilla / Firefox / Profiles /...... THEN you will see a bunch of letters for a folder named eg. "efghik[whatever].default". [c]click on it and a bunch of folders and content should open. [d] Find the one that is called 'bookmarks.bak' [Left mouse click it] Now [e] when you click on it, a window will open that prompts you that windows cannot open the file without knowing which program created it....[Note:Mozilla 3.0 DOES NOT HAVE A FOLDER CALLED BOOKMARKS. It seemingly updates a Folder called Bookmarks.Bak which is a backup folder that has all current bookmarks up to a certain date] Moving on.....

Step 3
NEXT [f] click on the option that says "Select from a list", then 'okay'. A program list will pop up. [g] most likely it will reveal, on top of that window, Firefox as the recommended program. If not, find Firefox and left click it. Firefox will open and take you to a page called "Bookmarks" in bold blue letters on top with a listing below of all of the details for your saved bookmarks. Here is where it gets interesting and every other forum seemed to miss this: You need the path to this file folder which is in the path window on top starting only with the letter C and forward [don't copy the file:/// stuff] Just carefully highlight to the end starting the letter C [assuming this is the drive you are working with] and right click COPY [what you have highlighted]. If you want [optional]you can open a word pad doc and paste this file in there to make sure you have copied it correctly or in case something happens later. [h] Close out all of the stuff that you have opened. [If you opened word doc, minimize it for now]

Step 4
You are now ready to do the IMPORT to IE7. Open Internet Explorer , then go to file and then IMPORT. Windows will open prompting you to browse for location to import from. Blank out all in the "path box" [do not cut, just use back space to make sure it is clear.] Next Right Mouse "Paste" in that window what you previously copied. Click Next. If you are successful, Windows IE7 should do the rest and then ask where you want to place the import. Choose the new folder you made at the beginning [eg. Firefox Bookmarks] and next. It may take a little while depending on the size of the bookmarks file. When you are done, Windows will tell you have successfully done so.
I have tested this. All the bookmarks ion the new folder are now new "Favorites" Yay!!!! I need to share this process with the world.
You can save the Worddoc for later use in case needed to update the Favorites Folder with a later version. Good luck. Hope it works out for you. I was so happy!
