Your kids want to make goodies in their Easy Bake Oven, but you don't want to fork out any more cash for the mixes?? Here's a few MORE ideas that will help the pocketbook!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Easy Bake Oven
  • Child who wants to cook
  • Desire to save money!
  1. Step 1

    CHEESY POTATO HOT DOGS
    2 hot dogs
    1/2 cup mashed potatoes
    cheddar or parmesan cheese; grated

Slice hot dogs into thirds. Split hot dogs the long way (not quite all the way through).

Fill split opening with mashed potatoes. Sprinkle top with cheese.

Bake in Easy-Bake Oven about 15 minutes or until heated through and slightly browned on top.

  2. Step 2

    APPLE PIE
    1/3 cup pie crust mix
    4 teaspoons water
    6 teaspoons pie filling; apple

Combine pie crust mix and water with fork to form a ball. Divide and form two smaller balls.

On a floured board roll out one ball slightly larger than the pan. Fit into greased pan. Fill with pie filling.

Roll out second ball of dough. Cut into 6 strips, 1/4" wide each. Place on pie filling for lattice top.

Bake in Easy-Bake Oven for 25 to 30 minutes.

  3. Step 3

    BEAN DIP NACHOS
    large tortilla chips
    bean dip
    grated cheese

Place tortilla chips on ungreased Easy-Bake Oven pan.

Top with about 1/2 teaspoon of bean dip and 1/2 to 1 teaspoon of grated cheese.

Bake in Easy-Bake Oven until cheese is melted.

    Makes 1 Serving

Tips & Warnings
  • Choose recipes that are at your child's level. For a young child, participating in making a recipe from scratch may be to long. Depending on the age of the child, you might want to make the mix ahead of time and let your child do the really "fun" stuff.
  • Be careful when pulling pans out of the oven, they do get hot!
