1. You will need to use these tactics if you want creditors to stop calling. If they are calling you at work you can make them stop. You should tell them that you are at work and do not wish to receive calls at work. There are legal protections that a creditor may not call and harass you at work if you ask them not to.

2. The creditors that call you at home are allowed only to call you during reasonable times. they are not allowed to call you at midnight or four in the morning. If you get a call during a reasonable time explain your situation honestly. Either set up a payment plan or arrange a date that you can make payment. This should stop the creditor from calling you.

3. If a creditor will not stop calling or are rude contact a lawyer. There are lawyers who can sue to protect your rights. No creditor has the right to call and threaten you. The creditor is allowed to state their legal rights but that is it. Make sure to be honest and try to work with your creditors. If you are unable to keep afloat bankruptcy may be an option.
