St. Patrick's day is a popular annual celebration in the United States. One of the most fun parts of this holiday is green beer. Green beer is easy to make.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • beer
  • green food coloring
  • blue food coloring
  • pint or large beer glass
  1. Step 1

Gather your supplies. To make green beer you will need beer, green and blue food coloring and large beer glasses. How much you need depends on how big your celebration will be. If you are having a large party consider purchasing a keg.

  2. Step 2

Choose a light colored beer. In order to get the best green beer you need to use a light colored beer. The darker the beer the harder it is to turn it green. Including Guinness in your St. Patrick's Day celebration is a great idea, but it is near impossible to turn it green, so you will need another option for your green beer.

  3. Step 3

Experiment. Before unveiling your green beer do some experimenting with the blue and green food coloring. Try adding 4-5 drops of green to a glass and 4-5 drops of blue to another glass and use a spoon to stir. Sometimes blue works better as beer is yellow. You may want to add another drop or two depending on your results.

  4. Step 4

Enjoy. After you have found the perfect combination for your green beer put your party hat on and get celebrating!

Tips & Warnings
  • Use light colored beers
  • Have some real Irish beers at your part that isn't colored. Creating green beer is an American tradition for St. Patrick's and not Irish, so some people may want to go as Irish as possible.
