If you need to send your friend or loved one money there are two ways in which you can do this.
You can either mail a check or money order to the inmate, or you can send them money online.
Sending the money online is by far the easiest, here's how. It is also the quickest way to get money to your family member or friend. It typically shows up in their account in 3 to 4 business days compared to at least a week if mailing money.
Follow these easy steps to send money quickly.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A inmate
  • Money
  • Internet Access
  1. Step 1

Make sure you have all of the inmates information including full name, and inmate number, name of the prison they are in, as well as dorm/cell number if possible.
Have all this information written down so you have it on hand when needed.

  2. Step 2

Gather the inmates information and a credit or debit card.

  3. Step 3

Visit the website jpay.com, sign up for an account.

  4. Step 4

Input your information as well as that of the person you are sending the money to. Enter the amount of money you wish to send, and send the money.

  5. Step 5

The inmate should receive the money in about 3 to 4 business days.

Tips & Warnings
  • Let the person you are sending money to know when you sent the money so they can ask about it if they are not notified in the 3 to 4 day time frame.
  • Keep a copy of the conformation email you receive after sending money for your own records.
