Change Your background on your Blog at Blogger

Tired of the old boring plan backgrounds of your blog at blogger or blogspot? Change it with a few easy steps and a free background code from The Cutest Blogs on the Block.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Blog
  1. Step 1

In order to change your background you'll need to start off at The Cutest Blog on the block dot com.

  2. Step 2

CLick on the link labels Free Backgrounds. Browse through the backgrounds and find something you like. After selecting the background of your choice double click on the picture. Right click to Copy the code. Here you will also find instructions on how to add the background to your blog. They did forget to add one step which I will add in my instructions here.

  3. Step 3

Next to add the background you'll need to log into your blogger account. Then go to your dashboard. Under the blog you wish to add your selected background to, click the "Pick new Template" change your template to the Minima template it should be the very first sample blog photo. Next click orange "Save Template" button. Return to your dashboard.

  4. Step 4

Click on "Layout". Here is where you can add and arrange your page elements. Go to your side bar where it asks you to add a gadget. Click add a gadget. Scroll down to you find the one labeled "HTML/Javascript" click the + add sign. Here is where you can paste the entire code that you copied for the background. Click Save.

  5. Step 5

Your now able to click on view BLOG.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can switch up your backgrounds as much as you like. But remember that the website that is providing them is currently free but unless you donate it may not stay free for long.
  • website offers other great info for adding things to your blog that may be useful too.
  • Be sure upload your template to your hard drive before doing these steps. You don't want to loose any valuable blogs that you have typed if by chance you get an error when uploading the background. You can do this by going to the edit HTML location in your dashboard and following instructions.
  • I did it on a test blog before loading it to my every day blog just to make sure that it worked. So you may want to give that a try if you don't want to back up.
  • Do this at your own risk.
