Step 1
First, remember that the more air you have, the better you will be able to project your voice clearer and louder. Try to keep your arms away from your body, and bring your arms to your sides and raise them up, in a relaxed state. This will help more air to full up your lungs, helping you to sing with a more clearer tone and voice.
-
Step 2
Next, make sure that you relax. Having tension can negatively impact your vocal tone. Try to keep your neck relaxed, and don't force your chest up when you inhale, as this will help constrict air flow.
-
Step 3
While you are inhaling, make sure to push your stomach outwards. This helps to fill your lungs quickly, enabling more control over your tone. When you exhale, bring your stomach slowly in, using the muscles in the diaphragm.
-
Step 4
When you hit the high notes, try to raise your arms a little higher and turn your face slightly upwards. You can try closing your eyes as well. Conversely, when you hit sharp notes, bring your arms down and lower your face. Make sure that you do not put your chin too closely to your neck, as this can cause air flow to be constricted, shutting your voice.
