This money gets separated from its owner for a variety of reasons, eventually ending up in the hands of the Delaware Treasury Department. Could you have unclaimed property in Delaware? This simple and free search for Delaware money, assets or property will help you answer that question.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

    Search the Delaware State Treasurer database to find unclaimed property in Delaware by visiting http://php.delawareonline.com/state/unclaimed.php

  2. Step 2

    Run a search on your last name, as well as any family names of deceased relatives to which you may be an heir.

  3. Step 3

    Print the claim request form and fill out the required information for any property found in the above search.

  4. Step 4

    Send the completed claim request form.

    In-State Residents send to:

    Delaware Division of Revenue
    Bureau of Unclaimed Property
    P.O. Box 8931
    Wilmington, DE 19899

    Out-of-State Residents send to:
    Delaware State Escheator
    P.O. Box 962049
    Boston, MA 02196-2049

  5. Step 5

    Follow the instructions provided on the claim form, when received, to receive the unclaimed property.

Tips & Warnings
  • The Delaware State Treasurer will only answer specific questions regarding unclaimed property after a written request has been received.
  • It may take up to twelve weeks to receive a claim request form from the treasurer's office.
  • Never pay anyone who claims they have found money in your name or can find money in your name. The Delaware unclaimed funds search and claim process is free.
