Clover and Dessert, by Jonathan

Learn how Easy and Delicious it is to Celebrate St. Patrick's Day!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 30 oz. can of fruit cocktail, drained
  • 1 16 oz. container of sour cream
  • 2 12 oz. containers of whipped cream
  • 2 packets of lime jello-powder only (DO NOT MAKE JELLO)
  • Walnuts-optional
  1. Step 1

This is such an easy dessert to make, either ahead of time or at the last minute, and so delicious you'll want it all to yourself!

  2. Step 2

In a large bowl, scoop both tubs of whip cream and sour cream and mix well with a large spoon. Stir in the fruit cocktail, drained of any juice, till well mixed. Make sure that it is not "chunky" with any frozen parts of the whipped topping.

Open the lime jello packets and pour the powder into the mix, stirring well. It should be all one smooth green color, besides the fruit.

Add walnuts if desired. Scoop all of the mixture into a pretty glass bowl or individual glasses and top with clovers (CLOVERS NOT EDIBLE; FOR DECORATION ONLY). Really cute if you have a nice stem with each, standing up in the glasses. Serve chilled and enjoy!

Tips & Warnings
  • You can make another batch with cherry jello powder and layer the red and the green mixtures in a glass bowl for Christmastime.
  • Instead of clovers, you can top with maraschino cherries.
  • Even better, mix and match colors for wedding or baby shower desserts! They do make blue jello, but if desiring pink, only add one cherry jello packet-the whipped topping and sour cream lighten it enough to make pink. Put a plastic rattle (or bell if for a wedding) on top of each parfait and voila'!
