Using a photo for an avatar is great but it's not much fun. I mean, wouldn't you like to create an image to use on eHow and your social networking pages? An image that looks like you but not exactly just like you? How about an avatar? Follow the steps to create one of your own line.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Internet access
  1. Step 1

Go to the Portrait Illustration Maker website and start with a blank avatar:
The link is in the resource section below. Click the red Delete button to bring up a blank face.

  2. Step 2

Click on the button for the Features you want:
You can start with the hair or the eyes or the mustache. Even the glasses- which is kind of fun when you think about it. Either way, as you go through the various parts, you'll see the avatar right there to the left of the buttons.

  3. Step 3

    Now for Coloration:
Click the Coloration button and make your selections for hair, eye, skin, and lip color. If the color you want isn't visible at once, click on the color bar to the right of the numeric code and you'll get many more choices.

  4. Step 4

Click on the Avatar when you're done:
All set? Double-click your Avatar. It will download to your computer. All you need to do now is save it on your hard drive. It will be available for you to select from any program requesting a photo.

Tips & Warnings
  • It's fun! Experiment until you get the Avatar that expresses the real you!
