Things You'll Need:
- Keyword list
-
Step 1
First of all, make a list of keywords that you want your website or blog to rank highly for. On page SEO concentrates on writing, so make a list compiling of a "main" keyword and several "secondary" keywords that you are going to target.
-
Step 2
Make sure to include the main keyword in the title, and a secondary keyword if you can pull this off naturally.
-
Step 3
You will want the main keyword to appear in your article, website, or blog post approximately 3-5% of the time. This is good on page SEO and will help get your pages recognized for your keywords without getting flagged for spam.
-
Step 4
Use headers on your pages and/or posts, and include your keywords inside of these header tags (like 'h1' or 'h3'). Good on page SEO experts know that keywords in headers and titles are given more weight than those just in the normal text.
-
Step 5
Make sure your main keyword is in the last sentence of the website or blog post, as well. This confirms to the search engine robots what your page/post is all about and is good on page SEO practice that is often overlooked.
