Here are a few tricks/tips that will help you get through Mario Kart Wii a lot faster.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

When the race is about to start, a great way to gain a slight advantage is to boost right off the line. To accomplish this, wait until the countdown character lights the second of three lights, then push and hold in the gas button. Don't push the gas before the second light is lit up. This trick will give you a split second boost and help you lunge ahead of the competition.

  2. Step 2

If you have fallen into water or lava, or off the side of the road on Rainbow Road, make sure to not push the gas pedal until your wheels make contact with the road. If you do this, your car will get a little boost to help you catch back up to the other drivers.

  3. Step 3

When you run into a question block, if you receive a green or red shell, a banana peel, or a question block, hold onto it for a little bit if you can. When you hear/see a red shell coming up from behind you, you can push down on your arrow-pad and release your item at the last second to protect you from the shell. This is a great trick for anyone who likes running the race in first. Remember... the other drivers will be aiming for you.

  4. Step 4

Finally, when going over a jump, flick your controller or wheel in an upwards motion. This will cause your character to do a mid-air trick, and also give you a temporary boost once you land!
