Infidelity is a serious act with serious consequences. Homes and families are torn apart as a result of the selfishness of a spouse who cheats. However, for the purpose of this "How to," I will expose and outline the signs that identify the signs of a cheating husband. If he's not cheating, these signs should tell you if he's close to it.

Fortunately, I am remarried and my husband of 1 ½ years has not cheated (to my knowledge) but I'm also keeping my eyes open for the signs of a cheating husband!

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Woman's Intuition
  • A Desire to WANT TO KNOW the truth
  • A Private Investigator if necessary
  1. Step 1

Your husband starts staying away from home more often or staying out later and you usually can't reach him on his cell phone. He may give the excuse that the battery died or he didn't get a good signal. Watch for this excuse to be a regular.

  2. Step 2

Your husband appears to be starting arguments resulting in him more often than not, leaving the house

  3. Step 3
Turning off the cell on a regular? hmmm

Turning off the cell on a regular? hmmm

Your husband starts turning his cell phone off whenever he comes home

  4. Step 4
    Check those phone bills

    Check those phone bills

You notice an unfamiliar and regularly dialed phone number on your phone bills.

  5. Step 5

Your husband suddenly takes up a new hobby and it's just for "the guys". You can't ever tag along

  6. Step 6

Your husband comes in and goes straight for the showers without much more than a "Hi." (only construction workers get a little leeway on this one!)

  7. Step 7

Your husband starts talking about the other woman. This is not as obvious as it sounds. He's not going to tell you he's flat out sleeping with her. He may not even know he's close to doing so. He may make references to the other woman. For example, if he works at the office, he may talk about his "female colleague" saying how "smart" she is. Beware of these kinds of statements and how frequently they are made, especially if you already have tension in the home.

  8. Step 8

Use your women's intuition. If you feel something may not be right, trust that your feelings may be right on target, especially if the other signs are in place.

  9. Step 9

Lastly, if you see cold hard proof, don't ignore it ladies. Can someone say, "There's no excuse for my husband to have nude pictures of himself on his cell phone or computer."

Tips & Warnings
  • Research has shown that most men cheat because they are either unfulfilled emotionally, feel unappreciated or undervalued. Sex is NOT the number one reason men cheat. Surprise.
  • Research has also shown that most men don't get a mistress that's more attractive than their wives. So, it's not just about the looks. It's how "she" is making him feel.
  • This article on "How to Identify the Signs of a Cheating Husband" is not meant to alarm or scare you. It's meant to empower you and is for informative purposes only. Of course, there are always exceptions to any rule. Just watch for the signs. If you see them (especially more than one), consider hiring a PI to get confirmation if you can. Do whatever it takes (legally) to figure out what's up with your husband and what you can do to emotionally re-connect with him once again.

on 2/13/2009 These are very useful suggestions. Number 8 is so very important, because your man will try to manipulate you into thinking your just silly, paranoid and have nothing to worry about. Don't lose touch of your instincts!
