Things You'll Need:
- 10" - 12" Terra Cotta Pot
- 5 small Cactus plants
- Cactus soil mix
- Paper towels
- spoon
- colored gravel
-
Step 1
A pot this size would work well for a cactus garden.Place a thin layer of gravel in the bottom of the terra cotta pot. Don't select a pot that is too deep. Shallow pots work best. Add the soil on top of the gravel. (you'll want between 1/2" - 1" of soil)
-
Step 2
Pick out the tallest cactus and remove it from it's original pot. Use paper towels to grab it, to protect your hands.
-
Step 3
Dig your finger into the soil to make room for the plant. Put the cactus in the hole and press the soil around the bottom to keep it in place.
-
Step 4
Make another hole beside the existing plant. Select the next tallest cactus and place it in the hole.
-
Step 5
Continue planting until all the cacti are in the pot. Use the spoon to press down the soil all around the base of the plants.
-
Step 6
Arrange the colored gravel to cover the soil. When you can no longer see any dirt, your cactus garden is done.
