Tzatziki is a Greek meze or appetizer, also used as a sauce for souvlaki and gyros. Tzatziki is made of strained yogurt with cucumbers, garlic, salt, usually olive oil, pepper, dill, sometimes lemon juice and parsley, or mint added. The cucumbers are either pureed and strained, or seeded and finely diced. Olive oil, olives, and herbs are often used as garnishes.

Difficulty: Easy

Cover and refrigerate until serving. Sauce may be made up to 2 hours in advance. Sauce can be used for many foods like Gyro, Souvlaki, Chicken, french fries, and pork. Adjust ingredients to fit your tastes. I like extra garlic and less dill!

Tips & Warnings
  • Put yougurt in first, makes it easier to blend.
  • Allow sauce to chill before serving.
