How to Install Recessed Lights in a Suspended Ceiling

If you have ever installed a suspended ceiling in your home You know that lighting can be an issue. like what type, size and style. Well here is an article that will help you if you decide on recessed lighting

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • measuring tape
  • stab saw (drywall saw)
  • light
  • wire nuts
  • and wire if adding more lights
  1. Step 1

    With the tile removed and resting on a bench or saw horses, measure and mark where you would like the light to go. usually the center is a good place but it depends on how many lights are in the room and where

  2. Step 2

    Place the housing onto the ceiling tile and with a pencil draw a line around the light. Keep the pencil close to the housing so the hole is accurate

  3. Step 3

    stab the saw through the tile and cut out the hole. Install the housing through the hole and fasten with the clips provided. these clips are black and the instructions show you how they go.

  4. Step 4

    Reinstall the tile and the trim around the light. hook up the wires , install the bulb and you are done. You may want to add more lights after the first one. They are all done the same way

Tips & Warnings
  • Make sure you have turned off power before hooking the wires up to it
