How to Display Frequency Tables in SPSS

Displaying a frequency table in SPSS is easy if you know how. In case you're not familiar with frequency tables, they're a way of displaying data that includes the frequency with which each data value appears, as well as the percentage of times that value occurs in the data. Here's the process for creating them in SPSS step by step.

Instructions

1. First, open your data in SPSS. Next, click on the "Analyze" menu. Go down to "Descriptive Statistics" (the second one down) and select "Frequencies."

2. 

   In the window that appears, you will see two large boxes; all of your variables are present in the box on the left. Select the variable that you would like SPSS to make up a frequency table for, and click the large arrow in the center of the screen to move it over to the box on the right.

3. Ensure that the box labeled "Display Frequency Tables" is checked. (If it is empty, of course, you'll need to check it before continuing.)

4. Click OK. SPSS will produce an output window that includes your desired frequency tables.
