How to Hydrate Thirsty Hair Naturally
Hair products, salon treatments, heat styling, sun exposure and pool chemicals can leave your hair feeling dry and brittle. Things You'll Need
- 2 ripe avocados
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tsp. olive oil
- Blender
- Plastic wrap
- Tape

Remove the flesh from the avocados and put into the blender with the mayonnaise and olive oil.

Blend for 15 to 30 seconds or until smooth.

Apply the mask to your hair, beginning at the roots and working toward the ends. Reserve 1/4 of the mixture. Loosely grasp your hair with both hands and gently twist it upward against the crown of your head. Apply the remaining mixture to your hair twist in a thick coat. Secure your hair with a clip.

Tightly wrap the plastic wrap around your head like a towel, covering hair completely. Keep the plastic wrap away from your face. Secure the wrap with a piece of tape. You can use a shower cap rather than plastic wrap if you prefer.

Wait 30 minutes, remove the plastic wrap and wash your hair thoroughly with moisturizing shampoo and then apply conditioner. For a deep moisture treatment, leave the mask on your hair overnight.

Keep hair moisturized and shiny by repeating this process once a month. For daily care, add 1/2 tsp. of olive oil to your shampoo bottle for a moisture boost.

Tips & Warnings
If you do not have a blender, mash the avocado flesh in a bowl and then whisk in the other ingredients until smooth.
For thick or long hair, increase the recipe to three avocados and 2/3 cup mayonnaise.
Warm the mask in the microwave for a few seconds before applying it for a soothing at-home spa treatment.
Plastic wrap can be a suffocation hazard. Never wrap plastic wrap around your mouth or nose.
