Step 1
Check your local comic book store for any sales. Many times a store will have a sale on a specific set of comics, or by a specific super hero. It also helps to check online to compare prices.

Visit Craigslist and eBay. These two sites could prove to be your greatest friend when on the hunt for that next comic book to add to your collection. There will be many people selling entire collections for a variety of prices, and that rare comic you've been looking for could be in the mix!

Step 3
If you have a friend that loves comics too, ask if you can borrow them or buy it off of them. You can save a ton of money by borrowing comic books to read and then giving it back. If you must own the comic or need it for your collection, offer to buy it for them at a significant discount.

Step 4
Trade comic books in at the comic book store and redeem them for new comics. This way, very little new money is being added to the transaction. You may be able to get all the new comic books you have been looking for by trading in comic books you'll never read again.
