Make Guacamole

A good guacamole takes no time at all to make. With few ingredients and just three simple steps, you can have a refreshing summer snack or party-starter. Guacamole is tasty with plain tortilla chips and nachos, or on top of burritos, fajitas and omelets. Let's face it, guacamole is downright addictive!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 4 ripe avocados
  • 2 limes
  • Salt
  • Medium sized bowl
  • Spoon
  1. Step 1

Choose the lime and the avocados. Pick out a dark green, fragrant lime. Be the one who smells the fruit in the grocery store. While you're at it, be the person who squeezes the produce, too. Here's a secret: these people are the best cooks! Choose ripe avocados. They are soft when squeezed and often the skin is a deep green or purple. Don't be scared if you get home and find out the inside of the avocado is brown. These are the best.

  2. Step 2

Cut the limes in half and squeeze all the juice into a medium sized bowl.

  3. Step 3

Cut the avocados lengthwise. Discard the pits. Squeeze the avocado out of the skin and into the bowl with the lime juice. Mix with a spoon. Guacamole should not be too thick or too runny.

  4. Step 4

Add salt to taste. Devour the whole bowl with tortilla chips before your guests arrive.

Tips & Warnings
  • Add some kick with chopped red chilies, garlic, tomato, onion and cilantro.
