It's easy to change the page margins in Microsoft Word 2007 for Vista, but it may not be obvious how if you're not used to the Ribbon and the other new Microsoft Word interface features. Here's how.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

In Microsoft Word 2007, click on the "Page Layout" tab of the Ribbon.

  2. Step 2
    Click

    Click

Select "Margins." You will be presented with a list of possible selections.

  3. Step 3

If you aren't satisfied with the available choices, select "Custom Margins...", the option at the bottom of the menu that appeared when you clicked Margins. This will bring up a window allowing you to manually enter the exact dimensions you would like for the top, left, bottom, and right margins of your document, as well as the size and location of the "gutter", a blank region that falls between the page header and the left side or top of the page. Finally, the options in the "Multiple Pages" section will also allow you to select various options that allow you to print multiple Word pages to a single sheet of typing paper.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you set the page margins too small, they may be outside the clipping region of your printer, meaning that what gets printed may differ from what you see on your screen. Never fear--Microsoft Word 2007 will warn you if this is the case.
