      If you want to know how to adopt a soldier, visit www. anysoldier.com.

      Go to www.anysoldier.com. This website is setup for easy navigation.

      Once there, click on the camouflage heart for the line of duty you prefer to help: Soldier, Marine, Sailor, Airman, or Coast Guard.

      Choose how you would like to adopt a soldier or serviceman.

      Go to the drop down box for "View Contacts Sorted By." This presorts into categories such as where the unit is from, newest contacts, etc. Choose how you would like to adopt a soldier or serviceman.

      One thing to remember is that there is a contact person in each unit. This is the person in charge of handing out mail and care packages for that unit. The people that receive the least amount of mail, or none at all, get a package first.

      In learning how to adopt a soldier, remember, you only have to adopt one.

      Click on the name. Look to the right of the screen, which gives a detailed description of:

      Where the Unit is From
      Number of Times Other People Have Requested to Send Items to that Unit
      Date Expected to Leave Current Location
      A Note from the Contact Person
      What Someone in that Unit Needs (basic request)

      Remember, you do not have to send care packages for the entire unit, just one person.

      Now you know how to adopt a soldier, so prepare the package.

      Prepare the package. Most items are simple things we take for granted such as candy, toiletries, snacks, magazines, q tips, tissues, etc.

      Once you gather the items, place in a shoe box and prepare to send. Include a note of encouragement.

      Click on the link under the contacts name ("Click HERE to request the Complete Address.") Since all locations are confidential, request by email.
