How to Make a Werewolf Costume

What would Halloween and trick-or-treating be without the werewolf, one of the most legendary and popular monsters? Werewolf costumes can be homemade or store-bought. It is complicated to make the werewolf face, hands and feet by hand, so this guide shows how to make a werewolf costume with a store-bought mask, hands and feet with the addition of some hands-on manipulation with the clothing and fur.

Instructions

1. Gather the supplies. Buy a werewolf mask, two werewolf gloves and two werewolf feet at a costume shop. It can be as scary or funny looking as you want, depending on what you're looking for. Buy a dark-colored T-shirt (black or dark blue will do), red plaid shirt, and an old pair of jeans at a thrift shop, or use old clothing that is no longer needed. The more worn the clothes are, the better. Buy a few feet of brown fur at the custom shop or some kind of fabrics or craft store.

2. Prepare the clothes. When a werewolf transforms, his clothes tear at the chest, hands and feet, so the clothes need to be shredded where the body expands. Cut the ends of both jeans legs and the red plaid shirt sleeves about 3 inches from the bottom with the scissors until they look shredded. Cut the collar of the red plaid shirt about 1 inch down until it looks shredded.

3. Prepare the shirt and fur. Glue brown fur around the collar of the dark-colored T-shirt and down the front of the chest area to make it look like the fur of the werewolf is bursting out of the chest.

4. Put the costume on. Put the dark-colored shirt and jeans on, then the red plaid shirt. Pull the bottom of the pant leg up and put the werewolf feet on, then pull the pant legs down until they hang over the top of the feet to hide the top of them. Pull the sleeves of the red plaid shirt up and put the werewolf gloves on, then pull the sleeves down until they hang over the top of the gloves. Pull the collar of the red plaid shirt down and put the werewolf mask on. Push the bottom of the neckline of the mask into the T-shirt collar and pull the red plaid shirt collar up and over the bottom edge of the mask.

5. Touch up the costume. Glue some fur around the top edge of the werewolf gloves and feet, so that some fur protrudes from beneath the clothes. Glue some fur around the edges of the neck of the werewolf mask, so that the fur looks like it is coming out of the neck. Button the bottom few buttons of the red plaid shirt, but leave most of the chest open, so that the fur of the dark-colored T-shirt looks like it is bursting at the chest.

Tips & Warnings

• For a scarier effect, add some artificial blood around the mouth and teeth of the werewolf mask and maybe some around the claws and fingers of the werewolf gloves.
