Instructions

    • 1

Choose the artwork you'd like to use for your bookmark. This can be photographs, magazine clippings, postcards, posters--anything flat. You can even use pressed flowers.

    • 2

Cut whatever shape you want your book mark to be out of the paperboard. Use a ruler to make straight lines.

    • 3

Arrange the photos and artwork on your book mark base and glue them into place. It is recommended that you use a glue specifically designed for collage or decoupage, such as the brand Mod Podge. School glue (like Elmer's brand) will cause paper to wrinkle, but decoupage glue dries flat. You can also use a glue stick.

    • 4

Allow glue to dry completely, about 20 minutes.

    • 5

Apply clear packing tape over both sides of the book mark to protect the surface. Be careful and make sure the tape goes on flat and doesn't wrinkle.

    • 6

Trim excess packing tape with scissors.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can put artwork on both sides of the book mark if you want. Just make sure you let each side dry completely before you apply the tape. If the book mark is cool to the touch, the glue isn't dry yet.
