How to Regrip Golf Clubs With Grip Tape
Golf club grips get old and worn. Just as often, golfers do not want to let go of those old clubs. Perhaps they were expensive, or they're just simply good luck charms or old keepsakes. If you do not want to get rid of your club but the grip is worn, you can re-grip it. All you need are some small supplies. You may need a partner to help you re-grip your golf club.

1
Find something or someone to hold your club down. Make sure you have enough room to work and clamp the handle of the club into something such as a vice grip or have your friend hold the club firmly.
-
2
Cut through the gripping with box cutters. Make a deep incision down the length of the gripping. You may also use a sharp army knife. When cutting, make sure to slice away from yourself and others to avoid injury. This step may be a little rough. Cut slowly and carefully, making sure everything is even.

3
Peel back the gripping. Do this carefully, so you do not bend or even break the handle. Do this in small portions to ensure that the grip comes completely off. Do not try to rip it all off in one try. It will break and leave small, hard-to-grab pieces behind. If necessary, use the knife or box cutter to help you. You can even use something to scrape off the grip pieces. If you do this, remember to do this in small increments as well, like peeling a potato. This way will be much easier and less dangerous.

4
Wrap the gripping tape around the handle lengthwise. Make sure it is smooth and even so that, during the next step, you will not have bundles of gripping tape all over your handle. Do not try to put it all on at once. Take small pieces and wrap slowly to ensure evenness.

5
Wrap the gripping tape around the handle in a clockwise manner. Do this in small portions as well, making sure that there is no gripping left behind on the handle. Make your wraps smooth and even, so you do not have little pieces sticking up and poking your hands.
