How to Add Memory to a Compaq Presario V5201US Laptop
RAM, random access memory, acts as a storage device for computer data. This piece of data can be returned in constant time. In other words, a book shelf with books stacked singularly would be like RAM. It takes the same amount of energy to retrieve any one book or piece of data. A tape drive or other like medium would represent the books stacked two or more deep. These would require several movements to retrieve a book or piece of data. This quick access is what makes RAM so valuable with transferring data on a computer. It is also a great reason to upgrade your memory when you want to optimize the performance of your computer.
