Decorate a Wedding Wagon

A wedding wagon is a small wagon usually used to pull one or two children down the aisle. Sometimes the flower girl pulls the wagon, which is filled with flowers. Other times, an older child, usually a girl, will pull a small child in the wagon. The small child in the wagon might throw flowers. Sometimes, wedding wagons are also used to hold gifts at the wedding reception. There are many ways to decorate a wedding wagon, depending on the theme of the wedding, from simple to lavish.

Instructions

    • 1

Line the inside of the wagon. Use a few yards of simple white fabric or choose something in the color of the bridesmaids' dresses. Place a pretty satin pillow inside for a child to lean against, if a child is going to ride in it.

Decorate the outside. Drape flower vines along the edges, securing them with hot glue, or drape a ribbon or ribbons. Glue a small group of balloons to the back or a small bouquet of flowers on each corner of the wagon.

    • 3

Decorate the handle. Wrap a ribbon, a string of beads or a vine with flowers up and around the handle. Use the hot glue gun to secure it. If the wagon is being pulled, leave the top of the handle free so that there is room for the flower girl to get a grip on it.

Decorate the wheels. If the wagon is going to be pulled, you don't want anything that will hinder them turning, but there are things you can still do to dress them up. For example, you could glue a pretty lace doily or a construction paper heart in the center of each wheel.

Personalize the wagon. Consider attaching a beautiful photo of the bride and groom or writing their names with a glittery silver pen on the side of the wagon.

Tips & Warnings

  • If the wagon is going to be pulled, make sure nothing is draping down near the wheels, including fabric or ribbons.
