When you're ready to try your hand at the blackjack table in Las Vegas, you schedule your trip and buy your airplane ticket. When it comes time to getting a hotel room at a Las Vegas casino hotel, you may run into a roadblock if you haven't requested a "comped" (complimentary/free) hotel room in Las Vegas before. There are some tricks of the trade you need to be aware of when you're trying to get your room comped.

Things You'll Need:

  • Casino rewards card
  1. Step 1

Call the hotel of a Las Vegas casino you've visited in the past. Give the concierge the gambling rewards card number of the card you obtained on your previous visit. Give the concierge the dates you're coming to Las Vegas and tell him you'd like to get your room comped.

  2. Step 2

Tell the concierge that you will agree to do all your gambling at her hotel casino, if she comps your hotel room. The concierge will look at your gambling record with the hotel casino. Hotel comp card ratings are based on how much you've spent at that particular casino in the past and how much money you've lost. For many casinos, you need to have spent and lost thousands of dollars in order to have a hotel room comped.

  3. Step 3

Visit Las Vegas with a big-time gambler. If you know someone who likes to lay down a lot of dough when gambling, he may have enough comp credits at a specific casino in order to qualify for a comped hotel room. Talk with that gambler and ask if he can get you a room comped during your trip or if he would like to travel to Las Vegas with you to gamble.

  4. Step 4

Wire money into a casino account to hold for you to use to play when you get to Las Vegas. Wire several thousand dollars into this account. Once you're in Las Vegas, withdraw large chunks of this money at a time to give the illusion that you're spending a lot of money at their casino. Make sure you do some gambling with your casino comp card, so they know you are gambling. After you've been in Las Vegas for a few days, tell the casino hotel that you have been gambling a lot and would like for them to comp a room for you.

  5. Step 5

Have all your expenses while you're in Las Vegas charged to your casino comp card. If you spend money at the hotel for a room, food, a car, shows, shopping and gambling, make sure all of that appears on your comp card. The more you spend, the more points you have toward earning a comped hotel room.
