How to Make Alphabet Bead Key Chains

Alphabet bead key chains are a fun way to express yourself, and they only take a few minutes to make. If you are looking for a quick, easy craft for kids or a personalized gift for a friend, just follow these simple steps.
Anyone can do this project. All you need are some alphabet beads, metal key rings and some durable string that will fit easily through your beads.

Things You'll Need

• Alphabet beads
• String
• Metal key ring
• Scissors

Instructions

1. Cut the string to twice the desired length plus 1½ inches. For example, if I want a key chain 3 inches long, the string needs to be 7½ inches.

2. Fold the string in half, holding the ends together.

3. Thread the loop at the top of the string through the metal key ring, then bring the ends up through the opposite side and thread them through the loop, pulling tightly to secure the string to the key ring.

4. Thread the alphabet beads onto both ends of the string, in the desired order.

5. Knot the ends of the string together.

Tips & Warnings

• Leather string works really well for this project, as does plastic beading string. Spice up your look by adding colored beads in between the alphabet beads.
