The Bare Escentuals brand offers more than just the bareMinerals foundations so widely available on the market these days. If you want to switch to mineral makeup and stop using traditional cosmetics altogether, here is how you can apply Bare Escentuals products for a seemingly flawless complexion. Even if you skip the rest of your makeup and follow these steps alone, you will be glowing like you never have before.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • BareVitamins Skin Rev-er Upper
  • Kabuki brush
  • BareMinersals SPF 15 Foundation
  • Concealer brush
  • Makeup wedge
  • Mid size fluffy face brush
  • BareMinerals Warmth
  • Mineral Veil
  1. Step 1

Prep clean skin for makeup by applying bareVitamins Skin Rev-er Upper on the forehead nose, cheeks and chin. Blend into the skin, avoiding the eye area. You may start off your makeup application with this product or dot it on once moisturizer has absorbed into the skin.

  2. Step 2

Swirl a kabuki brush into a pinch of the bareMinerals SPF 15 Foundation that matches your skin tone. Tap off excess before buffing the product onto your skin from the center of your face outwards. This is the company's trademark "Swirl, Tap, Buff" technique for applying foundation. Repeat until you have gone over your entire face.

  3. Step 3

Dip a concealer brush into the same foundation you just used. Tap off excess and stipple the product over any area on your face that needs extra camouflaging, such as under your eyes to get rid of shadows and on any blemishes. Press a makeup wedge onto these spots to lift away excess product without entirely rubbing away your application.

  4. Step 4

Swirl a mid-size fluffy face brush in a sprinkle of bareMinerals Warmth. The amount you use should be even smaller than the pinch of foundation you used. Tap off the brush to dislodge any excess before running it smoothly over your cheekbones, nose, forehead and chin. You should look as though you have a light healthy glow from strolling outdoors in the sun.

  5. Step 5

Set your makeup by lightly dusting a Mineral Veil all over your face using the mid-size fluffy face brush. Mineral Veil will keep your makeup in place throughout the day as translucent powder does for conventional makeup. It can be used as well to lift away shine when you retouch your face later in the day.

Tips & Warnings
  • If your skin itches when you use bareMinerals SPF 15 Foundation, this does not mean you cannot wear mineral makeup. Look for mineral brands which do not contain bismuth oxychloride, as this is the culprit behind the skin irritation experienced by some who have tried mineral makeup.
