Make sure that you have what it takes. Flight attendants are not only responsible for the safety of their customers but they also make the flying experience more pleasurable as well. As such, they need to be extremely personable and have excellent verbal communication skills. They must possess at least a high school diploma and be 21 years of age. In addition, they must be willing to learn such things as: administering first aid, assisting with emergency evacuation procedures and handling turbulence, and other related skills. If you believe you have what it takes, proceed to the next step.

Check the British Airways website (see the first link below). On the top right of the screen, you'll see a link for employment opportunities. You'll need to input your region, location, and category, as well as your email address. Once you do this, you'll receive a confirmation link that you'll need to view in order to access the information.

Review job descriptions and apply. Once you receive the confirmation link via email, you'll be able to access the job database. Once in the database, you can review job descriptions and apply for flight attendant positions via the application link. If you have any questions, email the Human Resources Department at BARecruitment@ba.com. Once you apply, you'll receive an email confirmation that your application was received. If British Airways determines that you may possess the skills and knowledge needed, you'll be invited to complete a one-day assessment. With your invitation you'll receive the time date, and place for meeting.

Prepare for your assessment day. To prepare for your assessment, think about your past employment history and engage in a bit of role play with friends or family members. Converse with other British airway flight attendants and concentrate on the skills. If you don't know any flight attendants, you can peruse online forums and ask more experienced flight attendants for information. Visit the second link in the Resources section below for a listing of current flight attendant forums that you can check out.

Take a one-day assessment. This will include presentations, interviews, fact-finding exercises, role play, group exercises and more. You will be evaluated on the way in which you communicate with others and openly share your ideas. The interview will determine how you previously behaved in such situations as home, school, and work. Fact-finding evaluates your ability to elicit crucial information from a conversation. Role playing will show your ability to deal with customers in various settings. Group exercises are used to see how well you get along with others, and the psychometric exam evaluates your personality, as well as your ability to complete various flight attendant tasks.

6
Once you complete the assessment, you will receive a response within 5-7 days. If British Airways is further interested in your qualification, you'll receive a written offer and will be required for you to undergo a series of background checks, apply for a restricted security pass, and complete rigorous training before you will be officially hired as a British Airways flight attendant.
