Draw Sea Animals

Sea animals come in many shapes and sizes. They can appear in dazzling arrays of colors and swim, crawl and slither through the sea. Whales and dolphins have long been some of the most cherished sea animals. They are praised for their intelligence, team work and even their tenderness. Of these animals, the killer whale stands out for its ferocity and stark contrast in color. Drawing a killer whale can be done with a few simple shapes layered over each other to create the body.

Instructions

    • 1

Draw the head of the killer whale with an oval. Add a curved triangle for the fin. Draw the body guideline with a flattened out "S" shape. Add the back fins with a crescent moon shape. Add the front flipper with an oblong oval.

    • 2

Draw a line starting at the top of the head and towards the tail fins. Start another at the bottom of the head and continuing to the back fins. Make sure that these lines start wider at the head, and tapper the top and bottom lines as they move towards the tail.

    • 3

Add a mouth with a curved triangle inside the left-hand side of the head. Just above the corner of the mouth, add a small circle for the eye. To the right of the eye add a small oval. Along the body of the whale, add a curved line. Dip the line upwards near the end of the tail and down again.

    • 4

Erase all of the guidelines. Add the blow hole with a small circle at the top of the killer whale's head.

    • 5

Ink the entire drawing. Let the ink dry and erase the pencil lines. Darken in the the top half of the killer whale with a marker. Darken the front fin as well. Make sure you leave the oval, eye and mouth blank.

Tips & Warnings

  • Make sure to let the ink dry before you erase the pencil lines, or the picture will smudge.
