Almost everyone loves flowers, and plantable paper flower packets are a creative way to share them with party, bridal shower or wedding guests. Following these simple steps will allow you to make your own, using whatever paper and enclosures you choose.
Additionally, there are several online resources to find paper and biodegradable glue, which won't harm the environment when your flower packets are planted.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Plantable seeded paper
  • Biodegradable glue
  • Scissors
  • Ruler
  • Flower seeds
  • Selected enclosures and embellishments
  1. Step 1

Choose a plantable seeded paper, or make your own using the instructions found at http://www.thriftyfun.com (see Resources).

  2. Step 2

Cut the paper into 6¼-by-5-inch rectangles.

  3. Step 3

Lay one paper rectangle out with the longer side horizontal. Measure 1 inch from the edge, and fold the paper at this mark.

  4. Step 4

Measure 2 ¼ inch from the opposite edge, and fold this side so that it overlaps the opposite piece by ¼ inch. Use a small amount of glue to secure these edges together.

  5. Step 5

Measure ½ inch from the bottom of the folded piece, and fold upward along this mark. Secure this fold with glue.

  6. Step 6

Allow the glue to dry thoroughly, and open the top of the packet. Insert flower seeds, paper message, rice and other materials.

  7. Step 7

Measure ½ inch from the top edge, and fold the packet closed. Secure with glue.

  8. Step 8

Add ribbon or embellishments as desired.
