The Dodge 2500 is ready to tackle anything.

The Dodge 2500 is a 4x4 truck that is built to handle the toughest tasks without failure. The Dodge 2500 comes with a six speed automatic transmission, hydroformed frame, and your choice of HEMI 5.7L V8 or 6.7L Cummins turbo diesel engines. Regardless of the type of motor that comes in your Dodge 2500, at some point you will need to perform some routine maintenance on it, such as replacing air, oil and fuel filters.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Put the truck in park and set the parking brake. Crawl underneath of the rear of the truck and locate the gas tank. Find where the gas line runs into the gas tank on the forward facing portion of the tank.

  2. Step 2

Follow the gas line forward away from the tank until you locate the fuel filter. Use the screwdriver to loosen the hose clamp bolts and pop the filter out of its mounting bracket. Slide the gas line off of the nipple of the filter on both ends.

  3. Step 3

Unpackage the new fuel filter and slide the gas tubing onto the nipples on either side of the filter.

  4. Step 4

Tighten the hose clamps down on fuel line and then snap the fuel filter back into the mounting bracket.

  5. Step 5

Climb in the driver's seat of the truck and turn the key to the "Accesories" position and wait 5 seconds (this primes your fuel line) and then start the truck up and see how it runs.

Tips & Warnings
  • Remember to pay attention to the directional arrow on the fuel filter when installing it. You do not want to install it flowing backwards.
  • Wear goggles when changing the fuel filter as there is the chance of flipping fuel in your eyes when you pull the filter off.
