How to Use Vellum Paper for Card Making
Vellum is a beautiful, crisp paper that can be used in many ways. You can use whole sheets or small sections of vellum when card making. The small remnant pieces can be used as inserts in a cut out card. you can make elaborate and elegant cards with paper pierced patterns in the vellum. You can also choose to punch a simple yet elegant border and place colored paper inside the vellum for a beautiful effect. This simpler card is in the instructions below.

Line the vellum with plain or printed paper. Fold the additional paper and trim to the same size or slightly smaller than the outer vellum card. Adhere with double sided tape or glue dots.

Adhere decorative stickers, punchie flowers, quilled items or matted stamped ink images to the front of the card.

Adhere a matted verse or personal message for the interior of the card. Adhere to the inside.
Vellum Inserts

Punch a heart, square or round window in the front of your card.

Cut out a square of vellum that will cover and overlap the shape you cut in the front of the card. The overlap should be 1/4 to 1/2-inch all the way around.

Open the card flat on to the work surface.

Place double stick tape around the shape on the interior of the card. Remove protective film.

Place vellum square on the the double stick tape and press in place. You now have a vellum window in the front of your card.

Place a sticker, rubber stamped image or photo on the interior of the card which will show through the vellum window.
Tips & Warnings
Be sure to pay attention when adhering items to vellum. It is see through and many adhesives will show through.
